General Summary:Novant Health Lowcountry OBGYN is seeking a dedicated and friendly Patient Service Representative to join our team in Mount Pleasant, SC. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service to patients and ensuring smooth front office operations in a busy, fast-paced medical environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a professional demeanor to assist with scheduling, patient check-in, and various administrative tasks.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction: Greet patients as they arrive at the office, providing a warm, professional, and welcoming experience.
Scheduling & Appointments: Answer office phone calls, schedule new appointments, confirm existing appointments, and reschedule as necessary. Ensure all information is accurately entered into the system.
Patient Check-In & Data Entry: Collect patient demographics, verify insurance information, and ensure accurate data entry into the electronic health record system.
Check-Out & Follow-Up: Assist patients at checkout, process referrals, schedule follow-up appointments, and collect co-pays.
Charge Entry & Processing: Process charge entries and manage patient balances.
Information Distribution: Provide patients with information on office policies, procedures, and general practice details.
Patient Portal Enrollment: Explain the benefits of the patient portal and assist patients with enrollment and usage.
Other Duties: Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support the efficient operation of the office.
Education & Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required. Completion of a medical office assistant program is preferred.
At least 2 years of customer service experience required, with prior medical office experience preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional, patient-centered attitude.
Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Basic knowledge of medical office procedures and insurance verification preferred.

Physical Demands:This position involves sitting for extended periods, as well as occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly pay range: $16 - $20 per hour based on experience.
$500 Sign-On Bonus (paid after 90 days of employment).
