Position SummaryEast Cooper Medical Center is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our collaborative rehabilitation team. This dynamic position spans both an Acute Care Hospital and an Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital, providing an opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and broaden clinical skills across two distinct care settings.
Acute Care Responsibilities: • Treat adult patients recovering from surgery, injuries, and medical conditions, including:
• Orthopedic fractures
• Spine conditions
• Stroke
• Respiratory disorders
• Complex post-surgical cases
Inpatient Rehab Responsibilities:Provide intensive therapy for patients with:
• Stroke
• Traumatic brain injury
• Spinal cord injury
• Amputations
• Neurological or cardiac rehab needs
General OT Responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Establish plans of care and rehab goals for each patient
• Deliver safe, effective, and age-appropriate occupational therapy services
• Utilize a full range of equipment and therapeutic modalities
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team
• Work with pediatric populations, including children with developmental disabilities, autism, and sensory needs (based on experience)
Education & Qualifications • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• Licensed Occupational Therapist by the South Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
• Current BLS certification required
• New graduates accepted; at least one year of professional experience required to serve as a clinical supervisor
