Job Responsibilities
Provide statewide ASL instruction to professionals serving Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, families of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, children and community members; provide statewide language mentoring to children and their families in their natural environment; provide statewide professional development for specific skill development; provide online and virtual ASL learning opportunities. Provide Deaf Mentor training in the natural environment by designing activities that will promote the child's acquisition of skills in a variety of developmental areas.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) or related field and 3 years of experience teaching ASL, or upon approval from HR, an Associate's degree in the above areas with 5 years experience or a HS Diploma with 8 years of experience in above areas; Native or near-native ASL user.
