South Carolina State University's Academic Affairs Division is taking applications for a Certified Teacher to work in the Child Development Learning Center here on the campus of SC State University located in Orangeburg, SC. The chosen applicant will develop and implement developmentally appropriate practices for young children.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities :
- Must provide various experiences and activities for children.
- Create materials, props, and design bulletin boards related to lesson plans and / or themes.
- Conduct individual parent conferences at least twice a year to discuss each child's growth and development.
- Ensure that children are supervised at all times.
- Employees will communicate clearly and effectively with children.
- Employees must implement behavior strategies and classroom management techniques.
- Evaluate classroom curriculum and the environment by the Department of Social Services, NAEYC, and all relevant policies and procedures.
- Perform duties assigned by the Director, Department Chairperson, Dean, and / or President of SC State University.
Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position :
Bachelor's Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education. FBI / SLED Criminal Background Clearance.
Preferred Requirements for Entry into Position :
Master's degree preferred. (Bachelor's degree in Child Development). A minimum of two years of work experience in pre-school instruction and / or certified teacher.
