South Carolina State University founded in 1896 as a Land Grant Institution located in Beautiful Orangeburg, South Carolina is seeking to hire a Law Enforcement Officer II to join our renowned Campus Police Department. The selected candidate will have the distinct opportunity to protect and serve the campus community and have the chance to influence the next generation of legendary leaders who matriculate here at SC State University.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Patrols assigned areas to prevent crime and detect violations of law. Responds to complaints, reports of violations, and requests for assistance.
- Issues warnings and citations to violators. Apprehends and arrests violators.
- Investigate community and traffic accidents. Directs traffic and controls crowds.
- Performs general police work such as maintaining order during emergencies, participating in manhunts, and providing executive protection.
- Testifies in court and other legal proceedings. Keeps records and makes reports regarding activities.
- Provides guidance and on-the-job training to other law enforcement personnel.
Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position :
Preferred Requirements - Certified Class I Law Enforcement Officer, College Degree
