What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN/DON position at SOUTH CENTRAL ALABAMA MENTAL HEALTH BOARD?
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate is required to provide all supervision of nursing staff, as well as nursing duties, at the Forensic Group Home as well as the Crisis Center and ensures 24/7 coverage. They also maintain the MAR’s – medication administration records, assist the Director of Nursing in the Nurse Delegation Program for MI, DD and SU.
Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent plus successful completion of an RN program with current Registered Nurse Certification by the Alabama Board of Nursing and relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide education, training, testing, monitoring, evaluation and updating all MAC/MAS workers and nurses.
- Conducts nursing assessments and duties.
- Administer medications as directed by doctor’s orders.
- Provide supervision to all nurses.
