What are the responsibilities and job description for the EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT QUALITY COORDINATOR (RN) position at South Central Health System?
• Reports to Nursing Director of Emergency Department
• Reports Indirectly to VP of Emergency Department
• Facilitate accurate revenue capture through
o Ongoing charge review & correction
o Charge change requests by billing
• ED record review for policy compliance with specified populations including, but not limited to, moderate sedation, sepsis, and restrained patient populations. Other populations may be assigned as needed.
o Translates rough data into meaningful outcomes for staff & providers
o Develops need-specific education for staff
• Perform chart reviews as requested by other departments
• Maintain ongoing and accurate Department statistics for quality reporting
o Population specific metrics
o Patient flow metrics
• Collaborate effectively with Clinical Coordinator to identify staff education needs and develop & execute education as needed.
• Supports unit education and/or certification initiatives. Acts as a staff resource in areas of above listed functions.
• Other duties not listed as determined by Emergency Department Nursing Director
• Functions as a staff nurse as required, must maintain TNCC, ALS, & PALS certification.
