What are the responsibilities and job description for the EMPLOYEE HEALTH TECH position at South Central Health System?
Job Summary: This Employee Health Tech will be responsible for clerical and patient care tech duties provided by Employee Health Services and will be supervised by the Infection Control & Employee Health Manager and subsequently the Director of Quality.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Answering phones & facsimiles (fax messages)
- Employee coordination of testing & scheduling as needed
- Employee record data entry & document scanning
- Retrieving & Adding documents in InfoRouter
- Running reports for employee follow up & emailing delinquency notifications
- Performing N95 Respirator fit testing
- Performing DOT Urine Drug Screenings
- Performing phlebotomy (lab draws)
- Ordering clerical & medical supplies
- Other duties as assigned by manager or director
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write and understand verbal and written instructions
- Ability to follow instructions
- Basic computer skills
- Basic phone skills
- Basic email use

- Effectively maneuvers the employee health record relevant to job duties.

Education, Experience & Performance Requirements:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous healthcare or clinic experience is preferred.
- Must keep access to protected health information secure & confidential.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word preferred.
- If training or certificate is not held at time of hire it will be required after hire depending on class availability and director discretion:
- DOT Urine Drug Screening certification
- N95 Respirator Fit Test training
- Phlebotomy training
