What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Assistant position at South Central LA Regional Center?
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Serves as primary point of initial contact and inquiry for Individuals we serve information, referrals and assessments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Screens referrals for appropriateness.
Gives information about the nature of available services at SCLARC.
Gives general information about other generic resources.
Completes initial inquiry forms.
Requests outside assessment data.
Schedules new applicants with designated clinicians and service coordinators to meet mandated time frames.
Maintains logs for statistical reports.
Inputs data on new consumers.
Prepares referral letters on how to access generic resources.
Responsible for registering prospective individuals we serve and completing required consent and intake date forms.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - None
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must be bilingual (English, Spanish.)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
