What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coalition Coordinator position at South Central Louisiana Human Services Authority?
Provide leadership and support while utilizing the Strategic Prevention Framework process to guide the work of the coalition.
- Work closely with South Central Louisiana Human Services Authority (SCLHSA) Regional Prevention Coordinators and Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) staff to accomplish the goals of the coalition.
- Attend required Learning Communities and trainings and represent the coalition at regional and statewide meetings.
- Lead the coalition in developing an action plan to include strategies to reduce consequences of underage drinking in persons ages 12 to 20, and prevent onset and reduce polysubstance use in persons ages 12 to 25.
- Develop short-term and long-term goals relating to specifics as outlined in the action plan.
- Plan and organize coalition meetings including coordinating a schedule for guest speakers.
- Build the capacity of the coalition by ensuring multi-sector representation.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coalition members, staff, service providers, public officials and other community stakeholders.
- Disseminate information to coalition members, organizations, SCLHSA and OBH as necessary.
Develop and/or manage social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X, etc.
- Prepare reports, presentations, policies, meeting minutes and other materials as needed.
- Ensure all required data and reports are submitted appropriately.
Qualifications for Position:
· Minimum of two years of experience in health promotion or health education and or four year college degree in business, management, community health, health education, psychology, sociology or social services.
· Knowledge and competency in community organizing.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, perspectives and cultures.
· Possess group management and facilitation skills.
· Ability to effectively collect, analyze and report quantitative and qualitative data.
· A valid driver’s license, proof of auto liability insurance and access to a reliable vehicle in safe operating condition with a current inspection sticker is required.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
