What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crisis Clinician position at SOUTH CENTRAL MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING CTR?
South Central Mental Health (SCMH) is currently recruiting a full-time Crisis Clinician who will work with a diverse population, including children and adults. Qualified candidates must be licensed by the BSRB.

Responsibilities:
- Provide crisis evaluations, hospital screens, hospital discharge appointments, emergency intakes, walk-ins, competency evaluations, and PASSR screens.
- Provide education and consultation services to the community on an “as needed” basis.
- Provide treatment summaries/updates as requested by community partners.
- Provide Mobile Crisis Response.
- Must be available for on call hours as needed.
- Attend meetings and collaborate with peers and other team members regarding consumer’s treatment.
- Maintain clinical records routinely and in a timely manner. All records will be subject to utilization review.
- Sustain a high level of professional competence through continuing education and clinical supervision.
- Maintain all professional credentialing requirements.
- Adhere to the standards of ethics for mental health professionals.
- Follow all policies and procedures of the agency.
- Provide other duties as assigned.
Physical, Educational, and Personal Requirements:
Physical: Hear, speak, and write English clearly. Vision adequate to observe clients and make chart entries.
Education: Defined by license type; see staff credentials.
Personal: Detail oriented, good interpersonal skills, good communication skills, and great problem-solving skills. Must be adaptable to stressful environment.
Other: Must have a valid driver’s license and meet agency insurance guidelines, as this position requires ability to drive to agency centers, community partner sites, and client locations. Must have access to reliable transportation at all times. Pass a criminal background and driver’s license check to the satisfaction of SCMH and KDADS.
