Pump Station Operator

The Sanitary Board of The City of South Charleston, WV (SCSB) is a municipal sewer utility serving South Charleston and adjacent areas of Kanawha County, WV.

General Description

The South Charleston Sanitary Board is seeking a Lift Station Operator to work in construction, and maintenance of grounds, pumps, motors, instruments, and Lift Station equipment.

Essential Duties

· Conducts detailed routine inspections of wastewater lift stations: check all wastewater pumps, monitoring equipment, records readings on gauges and meters, and maintains electrical controls and equipment.

· Completes electrical troubleshooting within panels, wet well cleanings, pump and motor maintenance.

· Preventative maintenance on all lift station equipment including oil changes, priming, checking motors, greasing pumps, and monitoring generators to ensure full functionality.

· Performs building, and lawn maintenance including rebuilding of pumps, painting, mowing, and trimming lawns.

· Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

· Valid driver’s license with and acceptable driving record.

· One year experience performing lift station repairs.
