South College Parkside learning campus in Knoxville, TN is conducting a search for the position of adjunct nursing simulation faculty (instructor/assistant professor/associate professor; commensurate with experience) for the South College School of Nursing. The position will have on-ground teaching (simulation & lab) responsibilities in the Simulation Center for either the BSN, ASN or the LPN certificate program, depending on educational level.
Primary Responsibilities:
Thus, the responsibilities of a simulation educator are often quite varied and may include any or all of the following:
- Course lecturing and/or skills/simulation laboratory instruction
- Lab set up and clean up
- Lab maintenance and organization
- Simulation Room Scheduling
- Technical operations including set up, operation and tear down of scenarios
- Technical staff orientation and training
- Simulation research
- Liaison between departments
- Maintain professional standards of practice in teaching in the classroom and in clinical settings
- Prepare and implement teaching and evaluation strategies for students and faculty engagement in simulation
- Maintain currency in education and nursing knowledge and application through continuing education activities
- Contribute to the School of Nursing and South College evaluation processes to measure outcomes
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Two calendar years or the equivalent of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse
- Prior two or within the first three years of employment, have education in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Hold an unrestricted license to practice in Tennessee
- Experience in simulation preferred not required
