South College is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting and Finance team. Our ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment, have strong attention to detail, and work well with a team.
Below is a list of key responsibilities:
- Perform month-end close functions, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and other reporting schedules. This role has visibility and exposure to many aspects of the month-end close process.
- Ensure accurate recording and analysis of monthly revenues and expenses.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and revenue from the ledger to the sub-ledger.
- Evaluate current processes and procedures and recommend changes.
- Perform other duties and support other staff as needed.
- Assist with the annual external audit, including the preparation of audit schedules and documentation.

Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, preferably in Accounting or Finance or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relatable work experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of accounting or finance related experience
- CPA preferred, but not required
- Excellent skills in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups) and Word preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and experience with general ledger accounting
