We have been providing value-based health care to the Boston Chinatown’s community for over 50 years and have expanded our delivery of care into the cities of Quincy and Malden. We now offer many services including medical, dental, optometry, obstetrics and gynecology, behavioral health, imaging, and many other services.

Location: Malden

Available Shifts:

Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week

Pay Scale: Starting $85K annually

Essential Functions and Job Duties:

  • Evaluate patient as to physical, social, psychological needs referring appropriately to provider in Ob/Gyn, in another department, or to agency
  • Perform nursing procedures such as PPD’s, immunizations, dressing changes, etc., documenting appropriately in the medical record
  • Triage and screen telephone calls from patients and other agencies referring appropriately
  • Assist in patient flow, including to providers, prenatal health educators, nutritionist, family planner, lab and social services
  • Follow-up on abnormal lab results for Ob/Gyn patients including pap smears, STD’s, mammograms, etc. Keeping appropriate logs accurately and up-to-date
  • Follow-up with Ob/Gyn patients after visits under specific guidelines of provider in the medical record
  • Prepare patients for routine tests, blood and urine, mammograms, colposcopy, etc.
  • Follow-up on stat lab results with provider
  • Counseling and support for Ob/Gyn surgical patients, pre and post operative, making visits to hospitalized patients when necessary, telephone follow-up with patients after hospitalization or procedures such as tubal ligations
  • Collect data and submit perinatal data reports to DPH and family planning data to ABCD
  • Act as a case manager for some OB patients
  • Supervise nursing assistants with unit director
  • Triage Ob/Gyn emergency calls (carrying a beeper) as assigned. Flexible schedule may include up to two Saturday morning clinic sessions a month
  • Rotate to other areas to assist when necessary and available

OUTREACH

  • Visit community sites where women gather to educate around issues of well woman care and annual GYN exams
  • Flexible work schedule may include evening or weekend community evens
  • Act as primary staff for AAPCHO Brest/Cervical Cancer grant, both in outreach, doing surveys, and tracking data necessary for the grant

COUNSELING

  • Counsel OB patients during their perinatal visits
  • Counsel patients on important women’s health issues such as sexuality, rubella vaccination, STD/AIDS
  • Counsel family planning patients on contraception methods, keeping records/data required for ABCD
  • Counsel patients over forty, teaching recommendations such as GYN exams, mammograms, diet, hormonal therapy

Qualifications:

  • RN registered in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Bilingual in Chinese (Mandarin AND Cantonese)

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience
