The University of South Dakota’s Beacom School of Business seeks applications for the Center Director of the Pierre office of the SD Small Business Development Center (SBDC), one of Beacom’s outreach programs. The Beacom School of Business is the flagship business school in South Dakota and the region with its academic programs consistently receiving high national rankings from institutions such as U.S. News and World Report, Princeton Review and others. The South Dakota SBDC provides consultation and training to more than 1000 clients statewide per year with the result being the creation and retention of jobs, increased sales revenue and capital investments. It has received national recognition for its outcomes and contributions to the state economy.

The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Provide confidential consulting to startup and existing businesses.
- Assist area businesses with contracting opportunities and government registrations
- Prepare periodic program reports and ensure compliance with federal and state policies and regulations
- Represent the Beacom School of Business and SBDC Network to external constituents, stakeholders, and funding partners, and make public appearances on behalf of the Network.
- Ensure the program goals and EEO/AA requirements are met. Required: A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics or a related field. Preferred is business ownership or management experience.
