The South Dakota Human Services Center, a behavioral health hospital providing services in adult acute psychiatric, psychiatric rehabilitation, substance use disorder treatment, geriatrics, and adolescent patients, is seeking a board eligible / board certified Psychiatrist to serve the adolescent patients.

This position provides psychiatric support services for the evaluation, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of adolescents admitted to or residing within the Human Services Center.

Duties include :

• Diagnosis of patients;
• Establishing and directing treatment plans for adolescent patients;
• Serving as a member of a treatment team which reviews and determines prescribed treatment;
• Prescribing medication for patients;
• Monitoring therapeutic progress of patients;
• Instructing medical students in treatment methodology and evaluating their work;
• Providing consultations as requested.
