The Division of Medical Services is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as Supervisor of the Telephone Service Unit for the South Dakota Medicaid Program. This position directs staff to ensure quality delivery of customer service to providers and recipients of the South Dakota Medicaid Programs. The desired candidate will possess a commitment to service, the ability to lead, and the desire to develop staff.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience with supervision, customer service, and the ability to lead a team. Applicants with experience in Medicaid, and knowledge of health care reimbursement methodology are preferred. A bachelor's degree is preferred but not necessary.
Knowledge of:
- supervisory principles and practices (preferred but not required);
- Medicaid policies and billing guidance (policy and billing manuals);
- claims and billing systems;
- data collection process;
- applicable computer software and operating systems.
Skill to:
- use written word and skillful verbal communication.
Ability to:
- establish, build and maintain cooperative and productive relationships internally and externally; demonstrate compassion, respect, courtesy, and tact when interacting with others;
- gather and analyze data, identify and define problems or potential problems; and develop and implement appropriate resolutions;
- recognize individual strengths and weakness; build, lead and motivate teams that are committed to a common goal;
- make difficult decisions and assume accountability for actions and results;
- communicate information clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing; and to keep appropriate parties informed;
- adjust and adapt to changing policies and procedures;
- utilize computerized data system;
- establish workloads, deadlines, and performance objectives; and follow-up to ensure proper completion of outcomes and expectations (preferred but not required).
This position is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
