Working here isn’t just a job – it’s a life’s passion. Our atmosphere empowers professional success, team building, and facilitating relationships with organizations and individual outdoor enthusiasts to ensure our state’s rich outdoor heritage lives on for the next generation.
License dollars collected from sportsmen and women is an integral part of nearly all aspects of what we do as a department. Our department uses these funds to assist in creating habitat for wildlife and fish resources, provide access opportunities, managing and monitoring fish and wildlife populations, provide law enforcement to protect resources, developing new educational programs, enhancing and developing shooting ranges, repairing infrastructure, and funding research projects. As a Licensing Program Administrator, you will lead the licensing system that makes this all possible. Sportsmen and women across the country depend on having the latest licensing technology so they can participate in traditions that South Dakota holds dear – hunting and fishing. All we need is you! Sound like a good fit? As a Department of Game, Fish and Parks employee, here’s what you’ll experience:
- Innovation – The GFP team is consistently revolutionizing the way the agency handles data and makes decisions. In 2021, we implemented a new licensing system, and you will become the subject matter expert in this area to help lead the department.
- Professional Development – We provide trainings and support for you to become an expert in the field and stay up to date on the latest technology.
- Facilitation and Project Management – Seeing a project through from start to finish is always something to be proud of. You will take the lead on enhancing our current licensing system.
- Collaboration and Communication – The Licensing Program Administrator works with various teams within the agency, our licensing vendor, outside agencies, and public stakeholders.
- Part of the Big Picture – Our work is user-friendly and extends past the licensing program. Our product is relied upon daily by many different user bases.
Who We’re Looking For?
- Are you excellent at organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks and projects while maintaining a positive attitude?
- Do you take pride in ensuring that your work is accurate and detailed?
- When problems occur, you don’t get overwhelmed, but you are quick on your feet to find a solution?
- Are you an effective communicator that enjoys providing superior service to the department’s customers and staff?
