The Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program in the Department of Construction and Concrete Industry Management (CCIM) at South Dakota State University (SDSU) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, benefit-eligible instructor beginning August 2025.This position is ideal for a dedicated and experienced industry professional passionate about teaching and committed to shaping the future of the concrete industry. The Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program at South Dakota State University is one of only five programs of its kind in the country, offering a unique opportunity to educate and mentor the next generation of concrete professionals. The successful candidate will bring expertise in concrete technology, construction management, and industry operations, with a strong understanding of managing people, systems, and product promotion within the concrete sector. This role is supervised by the Department Head of Construction and Concrete Industry Management (CCIM) and provides the opportunity to make a lasting impact through high-quality instruction and industry engagement.Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach undergraduate courses and / or laboratories in concrete-related disciplines.
• Serve as an undergraduate academic advisor and mentor.
• Mentor undergraduate students and support student competitions.
• Collaborate with industry partners to align the curriculum with current industry needs.
• Contribute to student recruitment, outreach, and retention efforts to strengthen program enrollment and industry engagement.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university committees, supporting SDSU’s mission and the CIM program’s strategic goals.

SALARY : The salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications, starting at $70,000. We offer a generous retirement plan that includes 6% matching, 10 hours of annual leave each month, 9.34 hours of sick leave each month, and eleven paid holidays. Relocation benefits are available per university’s guidelines.
