Dakota State University is seeking an Assistant Director of Marketing & Creative Services to lead and innovate our digital and social media efforts, ensuring a strong and engaging university brand presence.

NOTE : This position is internal only. Only current DSU employees are eligible to apply.

Required Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Advertising, Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field.
Minimum three (3) years of professional experience in marketing campaign design, social media strategy, digital marketing, graphic design, or account management.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing digital / social media campaigns across various platforms.
Strong graphic design skills and proficiency with video and photography equipment and editing software.
Excellent project management, organizational, and leadership skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to craft compelling brand narratives using digital formats.
Critical thinker with problem-solving abilities.
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities :

Develop and implement a comprehensive digital and social media strategy aligned with the university's mission, vision, and core values.

Oversee and contribute to the creation of high-quality, engaging content for university social media accounts.

Maintain the social media editorial calendar, incorporating input from internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure brand consistency, campaign standards, and appropriate tone and voice across all digital platforms.

Analyze and track social media performance metrics, adjusting strategy as needed.

Provide training and support to university social media managers overseeing approved accounts.

Offer guidance to campus stakeholders on effective social media usage.

Supervise and provide creative direction for graphic design, video production, and photography services.

Review and approve creative work to ensure it aligns with brand standards and marketing objectives.

Manage creative project timelines and budgets.

Assist the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and stakeholders in developing and maintaining the university's brand style guide.

Work closely with external marketing firms and third-party vendors on university-wide marketing campaigns.

Represent the department in marketing meetings and committees when directed.

Support internal marketing campaigns for various colleges and departments, identifying target audiences and utilizing appropriate channels.

Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty, staff, and university departments to enhance marketing efforts.
