Summary
As a Laundry Aide at South Davis Community Hospital, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our facility. This position is essential to ensuring that our patients and staff have access to clean linens and garments, contributing to the overall quality of care we provide. This a Full time day position, 6:30a to 3:00p. There is a alternating weekend rotation assigned to this job.
Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute laundry items according to established procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area to ensure a safe working environment.
- Inspect linens for stains or damage and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Ensure that all laundry is processed in a timely manner to meet the needs of hospital departments.
- Follow infection control practices to prevent cross-contamination of laundry items.
- Maintain accurate records of laundry processed and report any discrepancies as needed.
- Assist with inventory management of laundry supplies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Ability to operate laundry machines and equipment safely.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic understanding of infection control practices related to laundry services is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
