The South Davis Sewer District has two plant operator positions available at our food-waste-to-energy facility in North Salt Lake. Experience in the wastewater industry helpful, but not required. We are looking for hard working, reliable, dependable individuals. High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

WRR (WASATCH RESOURCE RECOVERY) OPERATOR
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITY
A. OPERATE AN ORGANIC WASTE ANAEROBIC DIGESTION FACILITY WITH BIOGAS UPGRADING.
This job requires the employee to perform various tasks to operate a sophisticated system of tanks, pumps, biological reactors, conveyors, compressors, blowers, membrane filters and other miscellaneous equipment to meet the needs of the waste organic supply chain and to optimize biogas production.
TASKS
1. Responsible for assuring the efficient and reliable operation of all plant equipment, facilities and processes.
2. Check plant routinely as directed for mechanical condition, control or process problems.
3. Troubleshoot and correct mechanical, control or process problems under direction of the supervising operator.
4. Collect process samples, analyze by proper laboratory procedure and record results for internal/external reporting.
5. Calibrate instrumentation and record results.
6. Perform facility data collection and record data in database.
7. Perform other daily operational tasks as directed by the supervising operator.
8. Perform preventative maintenance tasks as directed.
9. Perform housekeeping duties in assigned area and/or throughout the facility.
10. Assist maintenance in performing repairs and replacement of equipment and facilities.
11. Perform other duties and functions as directed.
REQUIREMENTS
1. High school degree or equivalent.
2. Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
3. Capable of working independently or in a team environment.
4. Capable of using basic mathematics.
5. Capable of understanding the basic principles of plant operations.
6. Basic familiarity and aptitude for maintaining and operating mechanical equipment.
7. Capable and willing to work shift work, holidays, weekends and/or on-call to support the 24/7 nature of the operation. All overtime and holiday work is paid at higher rate.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
