Job Overview
MUST HAVE COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Manager to oversee and enhance our workplace safety programs. The ideal candidate will have commercial construction experience and be responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and developing training programs which empower employees to prioritize safety in their daily operations. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe work environment and minimizing risks associated with workplace hazards.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety incidents, investigations, and compliance audits.
- Collaborate with management to create effective training development programs focused on safety practices, including First Aid and CPR training.
- Monitor the effectiveness of safety programs and recommend improvements as necessary.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure compliance with relevant workers' compensation laws.
- Stay updated on Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and ensure the organization adheres to environmental health standards.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions to educate employees about occupational health risks and safe work practices.
- Serve as the point of contact for all EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) matters within the organization.
- Maintain confidentiality and dignity of employees.
- Collaboration and partnership with leadership team members.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a electrical construction safety management role or similar position within an construction or corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health standards, workers' compensation laws, and EPA regulations.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Experience in developing training programs related to workplace safety.
- Certification in First Aid/ CPR and OSHA are preferred; additional certifications in EHS are advantageous.
- Ability to fabricate solutions for unique safety challenges as they arise.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail when assessing risks and implementing solutions.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization.
