What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Scheduler position at South Florida Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine PA?
The Patient Scheduler is the first point of contact for our patients requesting appointments with our providers or general information about our practice. We are a large orthopaedic medical practice.
The position entails:
- Answering telephone calls in a friendly call center environment
- Evaluating patient’s needs and scheduling appointments with an appropriate physician
- Collecting patient demographics and insurance information during the call
The Patient Scheduler demonstrates exceptional customer service on every call, communicating clearly, respectfully, and professionally with all callers. This is a high call volume position requiring a positive attitude, flexibility, a natural desire to help people, and a high comfort level utilizing the computer software and telephone systems associated with patient scheduling.
We have full-time positions available. Must be able to work remotely and in office. Our business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Florida candidates only, please.

Requirements:- Prior experience with scheduling medical appointments for multiple providers preferred.
- Must be able to work at a fast pace with strong attention to detail.
- EMR/PM experience strongly preferred, strong keyboard skills required.
Physical Demands:
- Primarily sedentary, sitting. Use of general office equipment – keyboard, telephone, faxing.
- Periodic lifting, stooping, carrying less than 25 lbs.
