Essential Duties
- Project Management: Manage and direct third-party contractors performing maintenance or capital work on the SFRC.
- Facilities Oversight: Responsible for project management functions related to train stations and facilities.
- Signage Maintenance: Manages maintenance of the agency’s external signage (trailblazers) located on surface roadways throughout the tri-county area.
- Contract Management: Manage and direct various professionals under contract to the SFRTA to provide architectural, engineering, contractor, and other related design services.
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Interface and coordinate with other SFRTA departments, including Procurement, Operations, Planning & Capital Development, and Finance.
- External Relations: Interface and coordinate with external agencies, such as FDOT, state & local government agencies, and various municipalities.
- Vendor Communications: Serve as the primary communicator with SFRTA’s Operating Contract Operator & Security Contractor regarding station maintenance issues.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interact comfortably with all levels of staff in the organization and effectively communicate across departments and external stakeholders.
- Project Oversight: Manage project schedules and budgets.
- Reporting: Prepare periodic reports as required.
- Consultant Management: Provide support in consultant evaluation, perform fee negotiations, and preparation of technical specifications and estimates.
- Contract Administration: Review and approve consultant services, provide support for contract administration, consultant performance meetings, preparation of scope of services and scheduling.
- Facility Inspections: Conduct frequent inspections of agency stations & facilities.
- Maintenance Supervision: Provide oversight of train station maintenance contracts, incorporating new infrastructure into maintenance plans and ensuring minimal disruption of rail service due to station maintenance activities.
- Environmental Compliance: Serve as liaison for environmental compliance at rail facilities and represent the agency at monthly environmental walk-throughs in Hialeah Yard & West Palm Beach Facilities.
- Invoice Review: Review and reconcile invoices versus initial purchase requests and confirm work completion before payment is processed.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects or initiatives that align with organizational goals but fall outside the scope of primary responsibilities.
- Team Training: Provide occasional training or guidance to team members on best practices, as directed.
Knowledge of:

COMPUTER & SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet-based programs.
- Familiarity with scheduling software and Adobe Acrobat.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering or a related field.
Minimum Experience
- Five (5) years of progressive project management experience, progressive design and construction project management experience.
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job, may be substituted.

- Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license
