What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Aide, Electrical Lineworker (Hardee Campus) - South Florida State College position at South Florida State College?
Part-time, temporary* position to assist with classroom activities, recordkeeping, and provide other instructional support as needed. Typical work schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 3:35 pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exhibits good communication skills and cooperation with all College staff, students and community.
- Prepares instructional areas at the direction of the instructor.
- Assists students with work assignments, providing assistance as needed.
- Provides clerical support to instructor as required, including, but not limited to, keeping attendance records, creating and maintaining files, efficient use of materials and supplies, answering telephones, retrieving mail, typing, copying, filing, etc.
- Maintains a log of vehicles maintenance and repairs.
- Manages classroom and supervises learning activities in the absence of assigned instructor.
- Maintains PPE and climbing equipment in good order.
- Assists instructor in monitoring students work actions to ensure safe work conditions.
- Contributes to unit planning, assessment, and college institutional effectiveness efforts.
- Acts in accordance with local, state, and federal laws/regulations as well as College policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Term-by-term, as needed, based on program scheduling and enrollment.
Job Requirements:
Educational: Occupational certificate (or equivalent i.e. completion of a lineworker apprenticeship training program) in the teaching area preferred.
Experiential: In-field experience strongly preferred. Classroom instruction or instructional assistance experience preferred.
Other: Current class A CDL drivers license preferred.
