South GA Childcare is looking for a Lead Child Care Teacher who is not only experienced but also full of energy, patience, and creativity to help our toddlers build a strong foundation in early literacy and essential life skills.
As the Lead Toddler Teacher, you will be the heart of our toddler room, guiding children ages 1-4 in their daily routines, fostering their social-emotional development, and helping them explore the world through engaging, hands-on learning activities. Your role will be essential in promoting early literacy, nurturing independence, and creating an environment where toddlers feel safe and excited to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a Warm, Nurturing Environment: Establish and maintain a positive, structured classroom that encourages toddler exploration, emotional growth, and cognitive development.
- Early Literacy Focus: Develop and implement activities that foster language skills, including storytelling, song-based learning, and letter/word recognition.
- Teach and Reinforce Positive Social Skills: Support children in learning patience, cooperation, and sharing, while helping them develop strong interpersonal skills.
- Daily Routines & Transitions: Organize and facilitate a smooth daily schedule, including structured playtime, meal times, nap routines, and clean-up.
- Observation and Reporting: Track and document each child’s developmental milestones, progress in early literacy, and social-emotional growth. Provide regular updates to parents through Brightwheel and parent-teacher conferences.
- Collaboration: Work closely with assistant teachers to ensure classroom management and instruction run smoothly. Collaborate with staff to align learning goals with the overall mission of South GA Childcare.
Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements: CDA,TCC, or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (Preferred)
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year working with toddlers in a professional licensed childcare setting, with a focus on early literacy and social development.
- Skills & Qualities:
- Patience: Able to handle the energetic and sometimes challenging behaviors of toddlers with calmness and understanding.
- Character: A genuine passion for early childhood education and a nurturing, positive attitude that reflects a love for children.
- Creativity: Enthusiastic about creating fun, engaging, and developmentally-appropriate activities that promote early learning.
