POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the planning and implementation of activities for residents assigned to the Memory Care Center. Designs programs to encourage socialization, provide entertainment, relaxation, and fulfillment, and improve daily living skills. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- CPR & First Aid is required.
- 16 Hours Annual In-service Training is required by the Department of Community Health.
- Working knowledge of therapeutic recreation/activities practice. Activity Director Certification preferred.
- Specific training for new or updated services/equipment relating to job requirements.
- Technical/Clinical skill competencies completed annually.
Physical Requirements: Position requires ability to occasionally lift objects heavier than 25 pounds; have hand-eye coordination skills; sit for prolonged periods of time, be able to see small items. Position requires ability to concentrate on fine details of their work. Position requires ability to complete work timely and accurately due to the deadlines and regulatory requirements. Individuals should have good communication skills both verbally and in writing.
