Position Summary:
We are pleased to offer a unique faculty opportunity for a board-certified Internal Medicine physician to serve as a teaching preceptor for our Internal Medicine Residency Program’s continuity clinic. This position is ideal for a physician passionate about medical education, mentorship, and outpatient primary care.
Position Description:
- Full-time, Monday – Thursday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Friday 8 AM - 12 PM
- No call responsibilities
- Hospital-employed faculty role within SGMC Health’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) clinic
- Serve as a clinical preceptor, supervising and mentoring Internal Medicine residents in their continuity clinic
- Guide residents in evidence-based patient care, professional development, and practice management
- Work in a collaborative, team-based academic environment with opportunities for scholarly activities

Qualifications:
- Board-certified in Internal Medicine
- Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Georgia
- A strong interest in teaching and mentoring residents in an academic clinical setting
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and referring physicians
- Passionate about quality improvement, evidence-based medicine, and resident education
- EPIC electronic medical record experience is a plus
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with a commitment to fostering a positive and innovative learning environment
