The Unit Secretary plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our medical facility. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who excels in customer service and possesses strong administrative skills. The Unit Secretary will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, families, and staff, ensuring that communication flows smoothly within the nursing unit. This role is essential in maintaining accurate medical records and supporting the nursing team in delivering high-quality patient care.
Job Title: Nursing Unit Secretary
Schedule: Mid Shift Noon-8pm
Job Duties:
- Work in fast place skilled nursing facility handling calls, patient/family interaction.
- Field calls for other medical offices, schedule appointment and arrange transportation.
- Assist with admitting, transfer, and discharge of residents.
- Upload appropriate documentation in medical record.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- On the-job training is provided however, a basic knowledge of medical terminology and nursing practices is helpful.
- Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds
