Full/Part-time: Full-time Academic Year/40 hours/exempt. Summer- Instructional hours as needed
Supervisor: Director of Education & Regulatory Affairs
Summary: The Respiratory Therapy Program Director is responsible for all aspects of the Respiratory Therapy Program start-up including curriculum design, management of faculty, instruction, clinical affiliate management, accreditation requirements, and other duties as assigned..
Programmatic Accreditation:
- Lead all CoARC Accreditation activities and ensure compliance and adherence to standards.
- Attend programmatic workshops and training as necessary (CoARC Key Personnel Training).
Instructional
- Classroom instructional hours as assigned.
- Prepare classroom syllabi for assigned courses that meet ACCSC and PDE criteria
- Prepare lectures and design tests and projects for assigned courses
- Maintain daily attendance records
- Participate in professional development and faculty development activities
- Advise and help students who need after-class assistance
- Utilize Canvas in courses and actively engage with students through that platform
Curriculum
- Build new curriculum and online content as needed
- Annually Review/Update
o Syllabi & course descriptions
o Prerequisites
o Minimum grades.
o Course Charges/Book Lists
Personnel
- Conduct annual performance reviews and provide feedback, follow up, and training as necessary
- Complete schedules and approve time off
- Assist with hiring and training of new RT faculty
Other Duties
- Partner with Admissions & Marketing to participate in and identify recruitment opportunities
- Attend student events (orientation, graduation, Campus Visit Days, etc.)
- Hold quarterly department meetings and supply minutes
- Participate in program goals for IAIP
- Oversee PAC and conducts one meeting per year.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy or related field
- Minimum of four years’ (FT) work experience as an RRT with a minimum of two as a clinical Respiratory Therapist
- Minimum two (2) years' experience teaching either as a faculty member or clinical instructor/preceptor for a CoARC accredited respiratory care program
- Current credential/ State license in field
- Pass criminal background check
