The City of South Jordan is currently seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker who enjoys maintaining the beauty of parks, trail and open spaces. We are looking for a Parks Maintenance Worker who takes pride in creating and beautifying community spaces. By maintaining these areas, our Parks Maintenance Workers know they are creating clean and appealing green spaces where South Jordan residents can enjoy the outdoors with their friends, family and community.
During your typical day, you will be working outside with a team doing a variety of tasks that change with the seasons. In the summer, your day includes a combination of mowing and edging grass, trimming trees and shrubs, pulling weeds, replenishing mulch, and fertilizing plants. You may also install and repair irrigation systems to ensure fields and plants are receiving enough water.
In the fall, you will assist with leaf clean up and winterizing sprinkler systems to prevent freezing. During the winter months, you will help remove snow from sidewalks, parking lots, trails, and neighborhood roads to keep our community safe. When it starts warming up, you will help plant new trees, flowers, and shrubs along with charging and flushing irrigation systems.
Starting pay is based on current qualifications/certifications and service credit is provided for years of related job experience with qualifying past employers.
