DEFINITION AND SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
This position performs analysis, reporting and data management activities that support the strategic and operational goals of South King Fire. The Data & Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible to measure and evaluate performance, identify and document sources of information, conduct analysis, train users, maintain documentation, perform quality assurance, and devise methods to forecast operational needs using critical thinking, data patterns, visualization tools and trends.
WORK WEEK AND HOURS:
This position regularly operates five days per week (Monday – Friday), eight hours per day. Regular work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with two paid fifteen-minute breaks and a half hour unpaid lunch. Hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week are paid at the overtime rate of 1.5 times (X) the regular hourly wage. Determination and changes to the work schedule is at the sole discretion of South King Fire and the Information Technology Division Management.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Position reports to the IT Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Data & Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for ensuring Fire & EMS reports are entered properly, data governance, and querying data repositories for generating ad hoc reports as needed.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of district operations to identify efficient usage of data
- Interpret and analyze data metrics to develop customized reports
- Use business intelligence tools to generate operational dashboards for executives, managers, and other stakeholders
- Create and manage databases for electronic data storage
- Review incident reports and assist with correcting data entry errors
- Ensure timely and accurate data collection and reporting to county, state and federal agencies
- Perform technical and administrative tasks associated with the GIS system
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure technical solutions meet business requirements
- Document technical specifications or requirements for the various data systems, business intelligence tools, and related databases, spreadsheets, or outputs
- Stay current on emerging industry and technology trends
