What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Coordinator position at South Kingstown Housing Authority?
The South Kingstown Housing Authority (SKHA) is seeking a housing coordinator to manage its public housing and Housing Choice Voucher programs. SKHA owns and operates 70 units of family and senior public housing and administers approximately 100 Section 8 vouchers. The housing coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Public Housing and HCV Programs to ensure compliance with all governmental regulations and monitoring requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
Respond to tenant and general public inquiries.
Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments.
Process housing applications, verification of applicant information, selection of eligible families, and leasing of apartments.
Compile and assess eligibility information in compliance with housing regulations.
Maintain tenant filing systems for accuracy, completeness and compliance in conjunction with HUD regulations.
Research tenant information and review housing program case files for accuracy, completeness and compliance with housing regulations, as well as participate in year-end file audits.
Conduct initial, annual and interim tenant recertification process.
Provide general administrative support.
Compile and evaluate wait list eligibility information including annual purge process.
Orient applicants and participants to the requirements, policies, and other details of the housing program with ability to process applicant documents critically for errors, omissions and misstatements
Liaise with landlords and potential landlords with regards to HCV participants and potential rentals
Perform data entry and filing tasks
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree or higher in Human Services or a related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred
Two to five (2-5) years' work experience in a related field.
Excellent organizational, time management, and follow-up skills.
Current, valid driver’s license required
Job Types: Full-time or Part-time
Pay: $55,000 - $75,000 annually, if full-time; commensurate with experience
Expected hours: 15 – 35 per week
