Staff Development Coordinator
Responsible for the quality assurance program and staff education of the facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for clinical excellence and education. This role reports to the Director of Nursing (DNS). Experience in the long term care setting preferred along with regulatory and QAPI knowledge.
Responsible the staff development program which includes mandatory trainings, competency based nursing education and facility-wide clinical program development.
Duties include but are not limited to
- Management of the QAPI process
- Maintaining an active competency based training program that complies with state and federal regulations
- Auditing for compliance with policies and procedures
- Educating/addressing staff on all areas of clinical competency
- All other duties deemed appropriate by the DNS and/or NHA.
Qualified applicants must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) or LPN in the State of Rhode Island. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to plan, organize and execute nursing duties in a timely fashion. Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care. Have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations, a professional attitude and high personal integrity.
