- Embrace and actively promote an inclusive and equitable learning environment.Job Summary : The JROTC Marksmanship Coach is responsible for providing marksmanship training, safety instruction, and competition preparation for South Kitsap School District's JROTC program. This role requires coordination with the JROTC instructor to ensure safe and effective training, as well as participation in scheduled marksmanship competitions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Conduct safety and marksmanship training in accordance with JROTC standards.
- Prepare students for marksmanship competitions through structured training and guidance.
- Lead and oversee two weekly practices to be determined.
- Attend Marksmanship Competitions as outlined in the Marksmanship Drill schedule.
- Collaborate with Instructor to facilitate registration, planning, and communication regarding marksmanship competitions.
- Helps coordinate and / assist or lead conducting safety and risk management training sessions with staff and students related to Marksmanship.
- Participates with other staff to cooperatively plan, develop, and implement a course of instruction in the assigned curriculum area.
- Participates with other staff to cooperatively develop effective, positive techniques for improving student behavior.
- Provides positive assistance and guidance to a diverse population.
- Modifies instructional programs to meet individual student needs.
- Participates in team instructional planning.
- Participates in planning events.
- Works cooperatively with total building staff in an atmosphere of cooperation and collegiality.

- Successful completion of the JROTC Marksmanship Instructor Course (certificate required before coaching students).
- Experience in marksmanship instruction, firearm safety, and competition preparation preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively coordinate with students, instructors, and competition organizers.
- Ability to maintain a safe and disciplined training environment.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations governing student and employee health and safety, including applicable CTE Program Standards, RCW's WAC's, OSPI, WISHA, ADA, and DOH and Marksmanship state and national standards.
- Knowledge of accident and injury prevention, reduction, and mitigation techniques and procedures.
- Must be flexible, exhibit a commitment to accomplishment, possess outstanding communication and conceptual skills, demonstrate appropriate and positive student relationships, possess a strong professional orientation, and be willing to actively participate in a team environment.
- Willingness and ability to utilize a variety of research-based effective instructional strategies, including an emphasis on developing skills for all students.
- Demonstrated knowledge of an integrated curriculum and a commitment to broaden knowledge in curriculum methods by participating in classes, workshops, in-services, peer coaching, reading, etc.
- Demonstrated compatibility with staff, program, and school goals.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required;
