Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Proficient in computer software application skills – MS Excel, MSWord, email software,
- Proficient in the operation of standard office
- Knowledge of efficient filing and record-keeping and ability to perform complex data
- Knowledgeable accounting and time-keeping
Preferred:
- Experience with NSLP and other K12 meal programs
- Ability to identify reimbursable meals
- Knowledgeable of point-of-sale processes
- Knowledgeable of HACCP procedures
- Knowledgeable of State and Federal rules and regulations and local policies pertaining to the school feeding
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with processing of Family Meal Applications (paper and online).
- Streamline office functions to increase timeliness and
- Process new hires and substitutes for Food Services
- Assist with processing of cafeteria food vendor
- Assist with accounts
- Facilitate the assigning of Purchase Orders by obtaining necessary
- Open lines of communication between Food Service Office and cafeteria managers via email and other forms of
- Assist with preparation of monthly
- Track all Food Service staff's sick leave from timesheets and reconcile with the system.
- Manage, coordinate, track and maintain records for department warehouse and
- Review and assist cafeteria managers with the school production
- Review and assist with school cafeteria
- Assist with transferring of food between schools
- Assist Food Service Supervisor with the processing of maintenance work orders and outside equipment
- Travel to schools as Must maintain a driver’s license, in good standing.
- Attend staff development meetings, manager meetings, in-service meetings, and any other training/meetings as deemed necessary by the Supervisor of Food Services.
- The ability to maintain a good working relationship with co-workers and understand confidentiality is of utmost
- Ability to work with Cafeteria Managers, Principals, and other Supervisors, as needed, for the efficient operation of the Food Service
- Responsible for shipping and receiving
- Perform any other duties as required or assigned by Food Services Supervisor
Capacity and Ability Requirements:
- Able to understand and follow policies, procedures
- Ability to communicate policies, procedures, using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Able to explain and communicate instructions to staff
- Ability to make decisions in accordance with policies and procedures of Local, State and Federal
- Ability to identify and communicate any deficiencies in compliance with Local, State, and Federal regulations
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Sitting for long periods
- Standing for long periods
- Traveling (driving) from school to school
Terms of Employment:
Administrative Assistance is a 12-month employee of the Food Service Department based out of the District Office.
Evaluation:
Evaluation will be conducted annually by Food Services Supervisor.
