Salary : $20.00 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities : Provide coaching services by one-on-one college and career coaching sessions to student participants who are identified by the Career Compass Project manager.
- Assist students with transitioning to a college environment.
- Lead summer workshops, tours, and orientations for student participants.
- Meet with student participants during their senior year of high school, over the summer, and at least twice each semester once the student is enrolled in college.
- Monitor student progress in classes monthly and proactively provide intervention and resources to students as needed.
- Participate in Beyond Graduation training, conducted by Career Compass.
- Obtain FERPA waivers to release information to Career Compass.
- Update database with relevant student data and complete monthly progress reports within a prescribed timeframe.
- Develop ongoing, sustained relationships with students.
- Develop and maintain a complete understanding of each student’s unique situation, background, and needs.
- Travel to high schools as needed to meet with student participants.
- Other duties as deemed necessary.
Required Education : Bachelor's degree
Required Experience : One year experience working with students in a K-12 school, college, university or other similar setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Proficiency in the use of standard office equipment and networked personal computers.
Required Licenses or Certifications :
Preferred Education : Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, public relations, or guidance counseling.
