Duties and Responsibilities :

Work Habits – 30%

  • Lead the Collegiate Recovery Program, providing support, resources, and a sense of community for students in recovery from substance use disorders.
  • Implement recovery-focused initiatives, peer support networks, and a safe environment for students in recovery.
  • Develop and implement substance use prevention programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns targeting alcohol, drugs, and other substances.
  • Assist students involved in the student conduct process by identifying barriers to success and providing guidance to help them overcome these challenges.
  • Work with students to develop action plans for rehabilitation, personal development, and successful reintegration into the academic community.
  • Promote accountability, personal growth, and healing through restorative justice principles, helping students repair harm and strengthen relationships within the community.

Behavioral Standards – 30%

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of prevention programs and make improvements based on feedback and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and institutional requirements regarding student records.
  • Compile and analyze statistical data related to student conduct and prepare reports as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and staff to ensure clear communication and understanding of expectations in the student conduct process.
  • Facilitate restorative justice circles and conflict resolution processes for students involved in substance related misconduct or behavioral issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of student participation in the Collegiate Recovery Program, restorative justice processes, and prevention education programs.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular updates to relevant campus offices, ensuring appropriate follow-up and support.
  • Prepare reports on the outcomes of recovery, prevention, and restorative justice programs for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Institutional Support – 20%

  • Assist students in understanding their rights and responsibilities as College community members.
  • Provide educational programs and resources to promote awareness of the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Support students through the conduct process, offering guidance and resources.
  • Represents Student Affairs via Campus Committees, initiatives, and events as requested
  • Team Relations – 20%

  • Collaborate with campus departments, mental health professionals, and local recovery organizations to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Build partnerships with campus departments, community organizations, and local recovery networks to ensure students have access to a wide range of support services.
  • Educate students, faculty, and staff on the risks of substance use, healthy decision-making, and available support resources.
  • May facilitate educational outreach programs to the college and surrounding community regarding issues relevant to student affairs
  • Provide support in the development and advancing of the department’s philosophy, mission, and programs.
  • Minimum Qualifications :

    Four (4) years of experience in higher education, student affairs, or related field. OR

    Four (4) years of working in counseling, state program management, public or private schools OR

    Bachelor’s degree OR

    Associates degree and two (2) years of relevant experience

    Required Licenses or Certifications :

    Valid, unencumbered driver's license
