Job Description: This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of medical billing and coding regulations, as well as excellent customer service skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for submitting electronic medical claims, payment posting, following-up on unpaid claims to resolve discrepancies, answer billing phone calls, and other duties as assigned.
The position requires a candidate with at least 1 yr. coding and denial resolution experience. ENT and/or professional surgical coding experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies.
- Post payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts.
- Reconcile and balance accounts receivable records.
- Follow up on unpaid or rejected claims and take necessary actions to resolve issues.
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for services rendered.
- Communicate with patients and insurance companies to resolve billing inquiries.
- Maintain accurate and organized patient billing records.
- Assist with month-end closing processes and reports.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
- Proficiency with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
