What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Cheer Coach - SMS position at South Middle School?
This is considered an extra service position with a stipend and is not considered a full time position.
South Middle School is seeking a Head Cheer Coach.
The position is responsible for coaching student athletes to prepare them for events or competition. This position motivates student-athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport of cheerleading.
Must possess the following:
- Effective coaching techniques and skills;
- A thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport; and
- The ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.
Must fulfill the coaching requirements according to KHSAA Policy, as applicable. Experience as a Cheerleading coach preferred.
Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate; and passed the Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment OR completion of a minimum of sixty (48) semester hours of study at an institution of higher education OR an associate degree or higher.
