Grants Pass School District No. 7 is now accepting applications for the following position for the 2024-2025 school year:
South Middle School
Educational Assistant- Special Education
6 hours per day/183 days to work
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade and one of the following three options:
- Two years of college study.
- An associate’s or higher degree.
- A passing score on the District reading, writing and math assessment.
- Also supplemented by college level work or special vocational training in Special Education principles and practices, behavior management, and/or procedures related to basic physical/medical needs and personal hygiene. Two years of responsible instructional assistance experience, preferably involving contact with students who have some form of learning or physical disability or special cultural, social/behavioral needs.
- Experiences working with students who have moderate to severe physical and behavioral disabilities preferred.
- Assists in the planning and implementing of learning experiences of students enrolled in program; confers with teacher.
- Duties involve working with students who may need feeding, toileting or changing of diapers and restraining, at times, due to aggressive behaviors.
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with fellow employees and ability to get along well with students.
- Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish preferred.
- Upon selection, employees will be required to pay for the following: $12.50 fingerprinting fee and $66 ODE fingerprinting processing fee.
STARTING SALARY: $16.24-$23.47 per hour. Dependent on experience/education.
