Summary: To provide childcare services for residents under the direction of the Family Therapist. Provide parenting support and parenting education to families. Act as family and child advocate to collateral agencies within the community that are providing services to the family.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide childcare services during assigned hours.
- Complete assigned documentation in a timely manner
- Role model healthy behavior when interacting with children and parents.
- Support parents when they are utilizing new parenting skills.
- Provide parenting education and support groups as assigned.
- Communicate with clinical staff on regular basis, attendance at treatment team meets.
- Respond effectively and inform the program management team of any emergency.
- Provide on-site age and developmentally appropriate activities for children.
- Maintain confidentiality of client, employee and agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funder requirements.
- Ensure compliance with program/department, agency and/or funder requirements, as well as, SMOC policies & procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of daycare area.
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- High School / GED preferred or 1 years’ experience working with children in a daycare or pre-school setting.
- Ability to pass CORI / SORI as required.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Organizational Relationship: Directly reports to the Family Therapist. Direct reports of this position are none.
Physical Requirement: Ability to lift 25lbs. Ability to remain active for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions: Residential setting specifically daycare room / play area. Ability to climb stairs
Remote Work Option: Remote work is permissible in some positions at SMOC depending on the key functions and responsibilities. The Childcare Worker position is eligible to work from home 0% of the week in scheduling coordination with the department manager.
