South Mississippi Regional Center is a program of the Mississippi Department of Mental Health providing care and support for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. UP TO 28 HOURS PER WEEK
SCHEDULE/SHIFTS:
A Shift 6:00AM-2:30PM / $17 hourly
B Shift 2:00PM-10:30PM / $20 hourly
C Shift 10:00PM-6:30AM / $20 hourly
WORK LOCATION: 1170 West Railroad St., Long Beach, MS
CONTRACT TERM: THROUGH JUNE 30, 2025
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is semi-skilled level work in the care and supervision of consumers at a state mental health facility. Employees assist residents in all areas of physical care and assume total responsibility for the hygiene of consumers who are unable to independently perform such tasks. Other duties include general housekeeping assignments, participating in social and recreational activities for the residents, and writing nontechnical reports on consumer behavior and activity. General supervision is received from a Supervisor, Floor Supervisor, Residential Shift Supervisor, or Nursing Supervisor. Supervisory responsibilities are not assigned to positions allocated to this job class.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must provide proof of Graduation from an accredited four-year high school or equivalent (GED or High School Equivalency Diploma). Must have 0-1 years of experience in directly caring for IDD individuals or CNA type of work. (NO CNA license is required)
