Qualifications
Job Summary:Join our dynamic rehab team as a Fitness Instructor in a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). In this role, you will provide group balance and strengthening classes tailored to the geriatric population, assist therapists as needed, and offer personalized one-on-one fitness routines to residents transitioning from therapy services. Key Responsibilities:- Design and lead group fitness classes focusing on balance, strengthening, and functional mobility for older adults. - Collaborate with occupational therapists, speech therapists, and physical therapists to support residents’ overall therapy goals. - Create and implement individualized fitness routines for residents who have completed therapy services to maintain or improve their physical health. - Monitor participants during sessions to ensure safety and proper form. - Provide encouragement, motivation, and education on the importance of staying active. - Document resident progress as needed and communicate with the rehab team. Qualifications:- Certification as a Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, or equivalent (specialization in geriatric fitness preferred). - Experience working with older adults, particularly in a healthcare or retirement community setting. - Knowledge of balance and strengthening exercises, with a focus on the needs of the geriatric population. - Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset. - CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain). Preferred Skills:- Familiarity with therapy services, including occupational, speech, and physical therapy. - Ability to adapt exercises to accommodate various fitness levels and health conditions. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Pay Range
