ANTICIPATED ELEMENTARY ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Summary: Act 93 Administrative position (12 months/260 Days); Approx. 716 students in grades K-4.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Administration.
- Pennsylvania Certification as a Principal (K-12) or eligibility for certification.
- At least 3-5 years of administrative or leadership experience in an elementary setting (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of elementary school curriculum and educational practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and the broader school community.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations, including child protection laws, special education, and student assessment practices.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development and implementation of instructional programs that meet state and district standards.
- Supervise and support teachers in their professional development, classroom management, and instructional practices.
- Monitor student progress through assessments and evaluations, providing feedback to teachers to improve instructional practices.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback and guidance to teachers for continuous improvement.
- Help implement interventions and differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Enforce school discipline policies and ensure consistency in the application of rules and expectations.
- Work with teachers, counselors, and parents to address behavioral or academic concerns related to individual students.
- Create and maintain a positive school climate where students feel safe, respected, and supported.
- Address student conflicts and provide conflict-resolution support as needed.
- Help to establish and monitor behavioral interventions for students who need additional support
- Assist with the management of day-to-day school operations, including scheduling, attendance, and student records.
- Supervise classroom transitions, recess, lunch periods, and other activities to ensure smooth operations and safety.
- Assist the principal in managing school resources, including textbooks, instructional materials, and supplies.
- Support the principal in the development of the school’s budget and allocation of resources for programs and activities.
- Supervise the implementation of school safety protocols, including emergency drills, and respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, concerns, and upcoming school events.
- Assist in fostering strong relationships between the school, families, and the community to ensure student success.
- Collaborate with district and school leadership to align goals and initiatives with district-wide objectives.
- Participate in faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-related events to keep the school community informed and engaged.
- Support ongoing professional development for teachers, providing resources and opportunities to improve instructional practices.
- Participate in professional learning communities (PLCs) to stay updated on best practices and educational trends.
- Mentor and support new teachers to ensure they have the resources and guidance needed to succeed.
- Help foster a school culture that is inclusive, collaborative, and supportive, encouraging respect for diversity.
- Implement and enforce school policies, maintaining records of disciplinary actions, and communicating with parents and staff regarding student behavior and safety.
- Work with the principal to organize school-wide activities, such as assemblies, celebrations, and extracurricular activities that promote school spirit and student engagement.
- Promote positive student behavior and implement programs that support social-emotional learning (SEL).
