Men’s Basketball Coach
Physical Education Instructor
- Overall Program
- Recruiting
- Supervising assistant coach
- Equipment purchasing, care and inventory
- Budget preparation and control
- Scheduling of games and officials
- Aid in placement of athletes into four-year Universities
- Aid school authorities with discipline and control
- Follow policies of South Plains College & the Department of Athletics
Physical Education Instructor
- Meet and instruct classes in the location and at the times designated
- Follow instructional policies of South Plains College
- Strive to maintain and improve professional competence in instructional area
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.), in an appropriate field, from four-year College or university. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Sound background and knowledge of basketball as well as instructional field
- Familiarity with recruiting, budget preparation, scheduling and other responsibilities
- Proven success in competitive coaching
