Position Summary: The Food is Medicine Representative will coordinate food distribution to our partner clinics and nourishment centers within the 19 counties we serve. This individual will work closely with healthcare providers to ensure food is provided to patients in need as part of our initiative to address food insecurity and promote health through access to nutritious food. In addition, the representative will play a key role in expanding the Food is Medicine program by establishing new food distribution partnerships in clinics across our service area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day food distribution to local clinics and nourishment centers.
- Ensure timely delivery and handling of food items to meet program standards.
- Monitor and track food inventory allocated to clinics and nourishment centers.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clinic staff, healthcare providers, and nourishment center teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clinics and nourishment centers regarding the Food is Medicine program.
- Provide regular updates, reports, and feedback to ensure smooth collaboration between the food bank and healthcare partners.
- Identify and assess potential new clinic partnerships to expand food distribution efforts across all 19 counties.
- Lead the set-up of new food distribution clinics, including logistics planning and stakeholder coordination.
- Collaborate with internal teams to secure resources and develop strategies to sustain program growth.
- Educate clinic staff and community members on the importance of nutritious food for patient health.
- Participate in community events or health fairs to promote the Food is Medicine program.
- Develop and deliver presentations or materials to clinic partners regarding program updates and best practices.
Data Management & Reporting:
- Track program outcomes, such as the number of patients served, food distributed, and clinic engagement metrics.
- Collect feedback and testimonials from clinics to assess the program's impact and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and submit regular program reports.
- The position requires frequent travel to clinics and nourishment centers in the 19 counties we serve.
- Must be able to lift and transport food items as needed.
- Flexible working hours, including occasional weekends or evenings for special events or clinic visits, may be required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree in health, nutrition, or related field).
- Experience in program management, food distribution, healthcare or nonprofit work is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with the geographic and demographic needs of the 19-county service area
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must pass a background check and a drug screen
