South Port Marine Job Description
Job Title: Dockhand
Reports to: Dockmaster
Type: Hourly wage. Part-time. Weekends.
General Description:
This is a support position primarily focused on administrative tasks within the marina's office environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Open/Close marina office on weekends.
- Assist customers with inquiries both in-person and over the phone.
- Manage and process winter storage reservations and slip requests.
- Handle cash register transactions and daily financial reporting.
- Maintain accurate records of customer transactions and services.
- Coordinate communication with the Dockmaster and other departments as needed.
- Monitor and respond to customer needs regarding winter services (e.g., ice management, storage).
- Snow shoveling, snow blowing, and yard clean up.
- Light cleaning and organization of the office and customer areas.
- Use office equipment including fax, copier, and email.
- Conduct regular checks of marina facilities to ensure safety and readiness.
- Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Job Skill Requirements:
- Must be 18 or over with a valid driver’s license.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with email and office software.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to work independently.
- Dependable with a solid work ethic and reliability.
- Experience in a marina or boating environment is a plus.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Schedule:
Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays, with potential additional hours as needed.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
